iGene were proud to support Lancashire County Council with the Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen Coroner who reached the final of the Local Government Chronicle 2019 Awards in the ‘Delivering Better Outcomes Award’.
In 2018 Lancashire County Council and the Lancashire Blackburn with Darwen Coroner chose iGene in partnership with an NHS Trust to move to Digital Autopsy as the first line of intervention where a post mortem was required to determine a cause of death.
Their submission included the following facts:
· The service was delivered on a cost neutral basis and on time.
· The digital autopsy scans deliver a cause of death in 94% of cases.
· The full report is delivered to the Coroner within 72 hours of the request for a digital autopsy being made.
Although the submission did not win this category it was the first time a Coroner’s Service had reached the final of this prestigious event and iGene London Ltd were very proud to support this service.
